The Story So Far

Wraeth is a changeling. Born of a human mother and fey father, of whom they know basically nothing, Wraeth spent most of their life running and hiding with their mother and sister. Their mother told them it was because changelings were universally hated by all races, who simply feared what they did not understand. While this was certainly true, Wraeth came to realize that was not the full story.

Despite their need for secrecy, Wrath used their gift of being able to change into a perfect copy of anyone they have seen, to great effect in order to sneak out into the world. A naturally curious creature, Wraeth was drawn to inns and taverns where, in the guise of men and women far older than they were, they spent many a merry night singing and playing pipes for food and drink.

When Wraeth was in their mid-teens, they heard about the Bardic College in the Evergrow woods and determined one day to go there, even though their mother blankly refused to consider it.

One day, their mother, who made her living as a herbalist and tailor, had a commission to make a wardrobe of clothes for a rich elven noble and they travelled to the Evergrow woods, where Wraeth discovered the college and sought entry without their mother's knowledge. When their mother found out, Wraeth had already won the respect of Faelon, the head bard at the college, who persuaded their mother to allow them to stay, promising they would be safe.

Over the following years, Wraeth excelled at their craft, learning not only to play but to weave subtle magic into the music. They were on their way to becoming a powerful bard and had already reached Master class before their twenty-first birthday. Their happy life was soon to come to an abrupt end though when, returning from playing at a wedding, they discovered that their master and entire school had been slaughtered by mysterious assailants searching for Wraeth.

Wraeth fled to their home only to find it a burned out shell and their mother and sister dead. Fleeing in fear for their life, they took to the roads, never staying in one place long, both fleeing and searching for the monsters who had destroyed their life.

On the road, Wraeth fell in with a band of adventurers:

Ulfgar, dwarven cleric of the God of War, Balfor, who was on a nameless quest for self-discovery.

Kriric, an Aaracokra rogue whose desire to look after his own interests was surpassed only by his desire to steal everything that wasn't screwed down, and even then he'd try. The bird people hailed from the realm of air, and were shunned by most other races, for their fearsome, birdlike appearance. Again, people feared what they did not know. After having been stolen from his family and enslaved by a band of orcs and goblins, Kriric managed to escape, slaughtering his captors in the process. He now wandered aimlessly, stealing where he could, killing for gold, taking what he wanted with little care for anyone but himself.

Bree, a druid filled with wide-eyed wonder at a world she had deprived herself of in long years of self-imposed seclusion deep within the forest.

With these brave adventurers, Wraeth felt, for the first time since the tragedy that led them to the road, a sense of security and belonging.

After many adventures, the little band of friends accepted a commission to search for a lost child, and accidentally unleashed Belladonna, the Goddess of Chaos on the world. Having narrowly escaped with their lives they were commissioned by the King of Domaria, Gosmar Highthrone to retrieve the lost pieces of a powerful amulet, the only thing that could return Belladonna to where she belonged and free the world from the chaos her presence brought down on their heads. They were also charged with defeating Belladonna's lieutenants - Jasmine Ioren, who styled herself Jasmine of the Tome and  had infiltrated the elven king's court, Rorick the Forger who was sowing discontent among the dwarves, and Rothgar the Razer who was lost somewhere in the Forbidden Lands.

Sadly, Bree parted company with the party before they set off on their greatest adventure, as she was forced to return to her home when news of dark happenings there came to her ears. Instead, new companions joined them in their quest.

Varok, impetuous, brave and not always the brightest goliath in the clan. Standing at almost eight feet tall, his grey skin and bald head tattooed with symbols of his tribe and status Varok was also fleeing tragedy after his entire clan was wiped out by a band of orcs.

Darien a noble human archer whose gentle manners and generous personality belied deadly skill with a bow.

Roland, captain of the King's guard, paladin of Balfor, who became a good friend and solid presence to the sometimes unstable group.

Travelling to the College of Whispers to speak to the Archwizard and obtain the first piece of the amulet, Wraeth was plagued by dreams of a dark presence who drew ever nearer. One day, drawn to a strange grove in the forest, Wraeth was approached by a fae lord who told them their mother and sister were still alive, and promised them the power, not only to free their family but to break free of their pursuer. Wraeth reluctantly entered into the bargain and was given magical powers that turned them from someone who lurked on the edges of battle, their only use to inspire others, to a warrior who could call on their fae energies with devastating effect.

Speaking to the fae lord, however, set Wraeth steps on the road to another quest: to find out all they could about the fae who now held them in thrall, and to find their mother and sister, whom they were certain were prisoners in the fae realm, known as the Faerie.

On the road to the College of Whispers, the group had a disturbing encounter with Tealeaf, the young God of Mischief, who they later discovered was likely to be a Wild God. Wild Gods were powerful entities, called into being by a group of people with singular, and rarely good, intent. Until now, their existence had been purely theoretical in nature and the fact that one might actually have been called into being at such an unsettling time was unnerving, to say the least.

After meeting the enigmatic Thespian, Archwizard of The College of Whispers, and obtaining the first piece of the amulet, they were sent to the Monastery of the Heavens in search of Damascus silver the only material capable of reforging the amulet once the pieces were gathered.

Ambushed at the site of the transportation portal through which Thespian had sent them, half of the party were taken by a band of orcs and goblins, on a mission from a mysterious assailant known only as M, leaving only Wraeth and Darien behind.

Against all the odds, Wraeth and Darien managed to locate and free their friends. In the process, they discovered that M was seeking to not only capture the adventurers but to gather together the religious leaders of some of the most dangerous creatures in the Middle Kingdom - Orcs, Goblins, Bugbears and Hobgoblins.

Resting after their ordeal in the small town of West Foothills, Wraeth was given a task to perform for the fae lord which resulted in the death of the town baker. A lesson perhaps?

On arrival at The Path of a Thousand Steps, that led to the Monastery, the group was waylaid by a band of brigands who turned out to also be in the pay of the mysterious M, who was appeared determined to capture the band one way or another.

They began their climb and just when they wondered if they would even survive to the peak, then came upon a little trading post where they met Ranulf, and after hearing his story, made a new friend. They made plans to stop in again on the way down.

The party finally reached the Monastery and were introduced to Master Dojon, an elderly Aaracokra who promised them the silver if they would perform a task and clear the mines of whatever was attacking the miners. They were introduced to Eira, a messenger from the king's advisor, Jaquis, who informed them the king was gravely ill.

Eira, half wood elf, half drow, was not an immediate hit with the party and Wraeth, in particular, argued strongly against her inclusion in the group, worrying that her fearsome appearance would draw unwanted attention to the group. Unlike Changelings and Aaracokra, drow were not only distrusted and reviled but universally hated and attracted violence wherever they were seen.

Nevertheless, Eria joined them and proved invaluable when they came across a demon in the service of Belladonna, shipping silver through portals to who knew where. After the battle that followed, they somehow acquired a new friend - an imp names Grimshanks.

Securing the silver, the party made their way back down the mountain, to find their friend Ranulf had been slaughtered and a note left pinned to his chest from M who promised to "See You Soon".

On two previous occasions, the party had fought a revenant, an evil creature who taken over the bodies of the dead to wreak revenge on those who killed it and could not be fully defeated until it had completed its task. This time, their adversary had taken the body of their friend, Ranulf.

After defeating the revenant, they returned to the College where a ritual to free Grimshanks from his demonic master. was performed by Dalen Cockburn, one of the many Cockburn brothers and sisters who taught at the university. The Cockburns had not got off to a good start with Ulfgar and Kriric who had been accidentally forced to attend a nine-hour long lecture by Victor Cockburn on the finer points of abjuration.

During the ritual to free Grimshanks, they were attacked by a shadow demon and met a mysterious litch priest who promised to wait for them in the Forbidden Lands. Thespian informed them that if they did not reach him before he fully transformed into a litch he would be almost unstoppable. Nevertheless, the group knew they were not yet powerful enough to take him on, so they determined to travel next to the kingdom of the Elves to seek the next part of the amulet.

That night, Wraeth met again with the fae lord who gave them a book of power which contained secrets of the fae, if only they could find someone who could speak the language, and notes from many previous people who had been associated with this particular fae, who Wraeth discovered was likely to be Osman, a fae lord from the court of Queen Titania, known for his association with unfortunate mortals.

Before travelling to the Evergrow woods the party undertook a side quest to search for secrets in the mysterious Tower of the Ancients and discovered a secret room where they fought suits of animated armour and won a mysterious ring that appeared as if by magic in an even more mysterious satchel. Booth the ring and the bag were claimed by Kriric. Unfortunately, in the process of retrieving the artifacts, they triggered the tower's self destruct protocol and the entire tower exploded and sank into the earth.

As they turned to return to the transportation portal, they encountered an ostentatious gnome who identified himself as M.

While waiting for the portal to activate, they meet an enigmatic tiefling gypsy who gave Wraeth a ring.

Back at the college, Thespian identified Kriric's ring as an artifact capable of holding a magic spell, while Wraeth's was some kind of warning system that would warn Wraeth of the approach of some event or location. Not much help there. The bag was identified as magical also. It would hold far more than it's outer appearance indicated.

After spending a pleasant evening with the entire Cockburn family, they set off for the Evergrow woods.

Before arriving at the gates of the Elven Kingdom the party were set upon by a band of assassins in the employ of M. Eira received a message from Jaquis and left the party to return to the Capital City, Domar

In the guise of Aramil, elven ambassador to king Gosmar, Wraeth was able to secure the party entry to the Evergow Woods, where they were immediately attacked by a band of drow who had infiltrated the elven army. They were able to dispatch the drow and were taken to Primura, the principal elven city where the king resided.

On the way, they stopped off at an elven town where they were all able to relax. Wraeth encountered, Ascal, bastard son of the king and leader of a rebellion against him. They encounter Ascal again at the palace after meeting the infuriatingly rude, patronizing and apparently corrupt king. At first they were reluctant to throw in their lot with the rebellion but after discovering how badly servants at the palace were abused, they agreed to join Ascal.

When their belongings were rifled and many of their things stolen by Formar, the king's butler, the party fought back and were thrown in the cells, to be rescued by Ascal's rebels riding griffins. They were taken to the rebel headquarters where Wraeth learned about an enchanted glade which might be a gate into the fey realm. The problem was that it had been taken over by a coven of hags.

Determining to kill the hags and free the Twilight Grove, the party again took to the road.

Close to their goal, they came across a rebel base run by a very young elf who was in over his head. After sending a message for help to Ascal and healing as many of the sick and wounded as they could, they continued their journey.

Nearing the Grove they were caught in the magic of the hags, finding themselves enmeshed in a nightmare world inhabited by giant spiders and mutated fish. They finally broke free of the enchantments and found themselves at the lair of the hags, a small cottage on an island in a subterranean lake.

Wraeth took time to collect healing herbs from the extensive garden as they circled the house which lay on a tiny piece of land at the centre of a ring island. Close to the bridge leading to the house, they find an altar to the triple goddess with an altar that appeared to contain a human heart.

Moving on from the disturbing altar, they crossed over the bridge to the tiny island where the hags had their home. The house seemed like a fairytale little thatched cottage with leaded windows and flowers on the sill. They quickly discovered the house was charmed and it wasn't easy to get into, but eventually, they managed to open the door and step inside.

At first glance, the inside of the cottage was as inviting as the outside, until Wraeth broke the enchantment by "killing" a baby. Then everything changed and the hags were revealed in their true form

After a hard-fought battle, the witches withdrew to their altar where they summoned The Night Mother, a hideous hag who very nearly killed them all. Holding on by a thread, they defeated all four hags and discovered a secret lair under the altar where Wraeth was able to collect more alchemy ingredients and equipment. They also found Ash, an animated broom that was able to fly and clean house. Ash became Wraeth's new best friend.

From the lair they returned to the house but when Varok found a mysterious book in a secret compartment they triggered a self descruct and brought the entire cavern down on their heads. With Ash's help they managed to escape, to find the forest already beginning to recover from the hags' sickly spells.

On the way to the Grove, they came across a camp full of dead elves. The sole survivor, a ten-year-old mute boy called Dante, appeared to have been responsible for the devastation due to uncontrollable surges of magic. The party adopted Dante and took him with them as they travelled on.

At the foot of the hill on which the grove stood, the party were accosted by a group of the king's soldiers, and they were greatly aided by Dante's considerable power. The next day, they finally entered the Twilight Grove to be acknowledged by the forest Goddess Arielan, who offered Wraeth the opportunity to enter the land of Faerie, and a new adventure began.

Very quickly after arriving in Faerie, the group were captured by Osman and taken to the court of the fae queen where raucous shenanigans ensued - Kriric became rainbow coloured and Ulfgar acquired some new hair while Roland fought an endless fist fight for the pleasure of the fae folk.

Osman took Wraeth for a walk to a place call the House of the Lords, where he told them about their father, Corpus who was a fae lord of music and a member of the fae counsel. He was the consort of the faery queen who fell in love with a mortal. When the queen found out about the infidelity, especially when Wraeth was born, she killed Corpus and tried to get to Wraeth and their mother. They fled and had been running ever since. The queen loved Corpus so much she couldn't quite let him go and trapped his soul in an amulet she wore around her neck.

Upon hearing that the queen didn't believe Belladonna to be a threat, and that she had no intention of freeing Wraeth's family, Osman asked Wraeth to kill the queen. It appeared that only a fae can kill a fae and then only in Faerie, and they were long overdue for a change of management. Osman, of course would step in and take the crown.

All things considered, Wraeth decided to throw in their lot with Osman, given his promise to free Wraeth's family and provide them with the power they needed to fight Belladonna. Therefore, in a very emotionally charged exchange, Wraeth killed the queen, met the ghost of their father and got the whole gang arrested and thrown into cages.

The next day, the party were taken to a gallows in the market square and Wraeth was hanged...except of course they weren't because it was another "joke" from Osman. They were all released and Wraeth was given a gift of his father's flute which had magical properties.

When the time came to leave, Osman refused to allow Wraeth's family to return with them, once again twisting the truth. At first, Wraeth wanted to give back all the powers Osman had given them and wash their hands of him forever. However, that would leave his family lost and vulnerable in the Faerie, so they reached an agreement that their contract with Osman would continue until such time as Belladonna was defeated at which point Wraeth's family would be returned to him, they would part and go their separate ways forever.

Returning to the Twilight Grove, they picked up Dante who they had left in the care of the goddess, and were presented with gifts to aid them in their quest, together with a promise that the goddess would aid in their time of need.

Having sent a message to Ascal informing him of the liberation of the Twilight Grove, they arranged to meet him in the rebel base at Dalen where they discovered half the resistance had been wiped out in a vicious battle, Pinned to the wall, through the heart of a young child was another message from M warning that he would go after everyone they cared about before destroying them.

Shortly after finding the other half of the resistance locked in a room deeper in the compound, the party see to the sick but are then informed of something going on in a storage room. They investigated and found themselves facing their old adversary, the revenant.

After a battle in which the revenant literally brought the roof down, Ascal and the rebels collapsed the tunnels and headed to Luminel, the home of the rebellion forces.

Once at the rebel headquarters, the party, along with Ascal and his rebellion leaders discussed the beginnings of a plan and Ascal set the wheels in motion while Wraeth and the others had a chat with Formar, the king's former butler, who provided them with a floor plan of the castle.

A double-armed assault was carried out by Ascal, whose rebels were to feed the rebellion in the city and mount an all-out attack on the gates, and our party of intrepid warriors who air dropped into the castle itself.

A series of fortunate and not so fortunate incidents led them to a final confrontation with Jasmine Ioren, in the form of the Elf Queen, and the entire Elven Counsel. During the course of the battle, Wraeth saw all their allies, including the fae, the forest creatures and the water elements, riding to their aid. Jasmine began what would have been an utterly devastating spell, which our heroes managed to end, along with Jasmine.

Leaving Ascal and his half brother Lhoris to work out the details of jointly running the elven realms the party headed out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of thousands of elves. They ran into a massive cave where the missing elves were being turned into mind flayers and sent through a portal in their hundreds.

With no prospect of defeating thousands of drow and mind flayers, the party take the only course of action they can think of. They brought down the roof and entirely flooded the cavern, killing the enemy, but also thousands of innocent elves.

That evening, they rested and struggled to come to terms with what they had done and the next morning Wraeth and Ulfgar volunteered to check out the cave and ensure the portal was closed. When he stripped in order to swim down into the water-filled cavern his shocked friends find a tracking rune that had, at some point, been placed on him by one of Belladonna's disciples. That explained how Belladonna seemed to be always one step ahead of them. They managed to dispel the magic and Wraeth and Ulfgar completed their grisly mission.

After returning to Primura and reporting to Ascal and Lhoris, they headed back to the College of Whispers where they discovered Dante's brother, Warrick, a student of invention. They were also told that Thespian was beginning to fade and wouold soon have to retire and hand the role of Archwizard over to Vincent Cockburn.

While at the college, they received an invitation to a festival in Domar, as guests of the king. Wishing to check on the king's health, they transport back to the city.

As they approached the city gates they ran into a flamboyant and enigmatic human who identified himself as Marco Montaya. They help mend his broken wagon and continue to the city. While camping outside the gate for the night, along with other festival-goers, Wraeth examined Jasmine's journal, which they had discovered in her room. It was encrypted and had taken Wraeth and Kriric weeks to decipher. The journal was chilling, noting that Jasmine had been drawing immense power from beings known as "the alien" and "the entity". There was reference to three further books, one of them her spellbook, that told more about these creatures as well as the project they were working on.

The next day, the party attended a festival at which they competed in various competitions, including jousting, melee battle, archer and spellcasting. They won considerable gold, and more from betting on other competitors. Their enjoyment was sullied by seeing the king in obvious pain. Feeling guilty for not having visited him the day before, they hurried to the king's chamber to find him seriously ill from an injury infused with dark magic.

The king gives Ulfgar a new weapon, created from the tears of an angel and originally created for a war between an ancient civilization and the Gods themselves. All in all, there were twelve weapons of light to combat twelve weapons of darkness. During the war, the blade had been broken but the sword now had a blade of light. They realize that the shadow sword wielded by the revenant must be one of the twelve dark swords.

Trying to heal the king, Ulfgar called his God, Balfor, into existence. The god was able to help but not cure the king and called on Ulfgar and Roland to be his prophets. He told them unsettling news about things happening in the realm of the gods, but was not able to help them further.

Following their meeting with the king, the party head off on the next leg of their journey, north to the dwarven kingdom.

They were almost immediately attacked by the revenant and a band of assassins. Helped by Marco, who they later discovered was a member of the legendary Order of Slayers who were all but demonised due to the extreme lengths to which they would go hunting their enemies, including drinking potions that physically changed them, giving them temporary attributes of an animal.

After spending the night in Marco's shack, which was far bigger and grander on the inside and folded down to pocket-sized when not in use, Marco accompanied them to the north.

After a day or two of travel, they were waylaid by a band of elite assassins called The Raven's Hand. Led by a fallen angel - Harridan, the band were very nearly too powerful for the party, who would no doubt have fallen there and then without Marco's help.

Arriving at the last settlement before the border, the party discovered that there was civil war raging among the dwarves. The king had died leaving twin boys, each of which was fighting to be king, under the impression that the other had killed their father. Recognizing the hand of Belladonna in the discord, they wasted no time before heading out again, leaving Marco behind. Marco provided them with a homing mosquito, named Thomas, to let him know when they had completed their business in the north and were heading home again.

They also discovered there had been a large explosion a few weeks ago and the dwarves had mysteriously lost part of their reservoir. Oops!

Just before they left, Kriric found religion in the form of the Goddess of Luck (patron saint of thieves, but we won't dwell on that) who blessed him with an enormous emerald that became his holy symbol.

As they began their journey again, they were overtaken by a courier who brought them two surprised. Firstly, Enna, who had asked to accompany them on their mission. They were only too happy to accept. The second surprise was a box from Lhoris and Ascal containing letters of thanks from citizens of the Evergrow Woods, as well as a letter from the former king and some pages they had found among Jasmine's belongings. The pages spoke of an entity who had emerged from the darkness and was thirsty for death. It was chilling but made no sense at that time, so they added it to the book they had taken from the castle.

Shortly afterwards, they came across a dwarf who had apparently been captured by bandits and strung up by the feet. The companions rescue the dwarf, Brumach Galestorm and his magic axe, who agreed to accompany them to the Broken Mountains and assist in any way he could, in getting them inside.

Hardly had they begun their journey when they met with an old friend, none other than the mischievous God, Tealeaf, who came as something of a shock to Brumach. Scouting the surroundings afterwards, Wraeth had another run in with Osman and in exchange for giving up their position as Fae Lord, they received a new friend - a fae dragon called Twinkle.

The next day, they were accosted by an immortal goliath and his host of ghostly ancestors, barely escaping with their lives.

One day, high in a mountain pass, Roland was overcome by a flood of memories. Before the companions could do anything to help him, they were accosted by fae who turned out to be acting on behalf of Oberon, king of the unseelie court and husband of Titania. Fortunately, the marriage had not been a close, loving one, but when Oberon turned up he still gave Wraeth a hard time. He offered the hospitality of the unseelie court but our friends were not inclined to accept. They'd all had enough fae for a while, and like Wraeth had no trust in the triksy folk.

At the gates to the broken mountains, they met up with Galefist Hammerbeard, an old friend of Brum who told them the gates were about to be closed and sealed and if they went inside they would not be able to get out until the civil war was resolved. Of course, our valiant party lost no time in hurrying inside.

They found a city full of refugees, fleeing to the last place that had, so far, escaped the ravages of war, being of too great a strategic importance to both sides. Their first port of call was to a mysterious shaman who told them they could save Roland's sanity only by embarking on a dangerous journey into his mind. After exploring the dark guilt that ate him away, they were able to recover Roland, or at least enough of him to be able to function until he had processed all that had happened to him.

As they are heading out afterward, Wraeth was accosted by a strange old man speaking of evil in the deep mines. When his hand grasped Wraeth they saw visions of dark eyes and many voices whispering into their mind.

After spending the night at Galefist's inn, and meeting his wife, daughter and daughter's secret elven lover, they head off in search of a dwarven artifact, a mysterious axe that holds the potential for kingship over the dwarves. The axe is being sought by both sides in the conflict and would be a powerful tool for any negotiations with the brothers, one of whom wants an alliance with Domar, while the other seeks to return to the old ways and obtain Dwarven independence.

With Rorric attending the secret meetings in the north, their path would lead them northwards in the hope of recovering the axe, then confronting Rorric.

After an evening of drinking at the inn, the party fall asleep to dream of Beladonna who attempted to entice them to abandon their quest. After being challenged by Brum she sends him spinning into the voice while Varok continued to press his luck until she touched him briefly on the forehead and he fell, dead.

When released from the dream, Ulfgar was able to recover Varok's soul and return it to his body along with dire warnings of not pushing his luck with goddesses anymore. Roland and Ulfgar together were able to wake Brum from his wanderings in the void.

Wraeth discovered that their father's flute had disappeared, and the dwarves swore oaths on their beards they would help them recover it. The only clue they had was a likeness of a dwarf Wraeth had been seen talking to the night before. Brumach recognised him as a mercenary who passed through town occasionally. Feeling certain he would be heading north, it was with grim determination that Wraeth rode out the next day.

They hadn't been travelling for long when they were waylaid by a group of dwarves led by the man who had stolen Wraeth's flute. He tormented them, then disappeared in a strange matching that burrowed into the earth. He made a comment that his master would be delighted to receive the flute. After dealing with the dwarves, they were about to move on when they were overtaken by the dwarven guard looking for Kririk and Ulfgar who were suspects in the murder of a jeweler they had visited the day before. Brumach, as captain of the guard, was able to resolve the situation, and they moved on.

Heading for the Dwarven capital, they passed through a village that had been broken by war and moved on with a better understanding of the real cost of the war.

Another brush with the revenant brought them again to the swordsman Marco who helped with the fight, them offered them hospitality. It came to light that he belonged to a fanatical organization who experimented with splicing animal DNA with humanoids to create creatures sworn to track down and destroy the monsters who threaten the peaceful population. Ulfgar had an issue with this organization, but when Marco offered his help in their endeavour they couldn't say no.

Marco had business to take care of and he provided them with a homing mosquito named Thomas and told them that when they had completed their business in the dwarven mines, where they were heading to seek the axe, they should set loose the mosquito and Marco would meet them before they headed into the capital city to take down Rorric and his followers

The party arrived at the city and diverted to the mine where the crazy man had told Wraeth the darkness resided. After fighting for their lives, they found themselves in a room with six doors and a puzzle they were able to figure out thanks to Kririk and Wraeth's creating thinking.

They passed through the six doors, one by one, facing a new challenge and a new danger with each one. They discovered this was a set of tests set by the ancients to protect their secrets. Although they had been adapted to be a protection for the axe, they also hid deeper secrets, which Kririk, in particular, was most eager to learn more about.

During their adventures, they had a visit from Osman who informed Wraeth he was now Wraeth's step-father and warning them of a welcoming party waiting for them outside the cave,

During one of the challenges, they were told that the axe was the last of the artefacts guarding the secret places, and was responsible for sealing the door. Wraeth heard whispers from the darkness, and warned the party about taking the axe and potentially unleashing the horrors it was set to guard. Nevertheless, once the axe was in their possession, they opened the door and passed through.

Enna remained behind to guard the exit while the other crossed a bridge over a lake of lava, fighting a demon on their way.
