Welcome to The Madhouse (Pinned Post)

Please note this is a pinned post. If you check up on what's going on don't be put off by the fact that this post is still at the top because it always will be.

We are a group of crazy D&Ders playing a complex, long term campaign on Saturday afternoons. We are an eclectic mix, differing vastly in age and experience but all agreed on one thing - D&D is awesome.

Once relegated to dank and dusty basements, it has been brought into the light by such shows as Critical Role and College Humor's Dimension 20

Credit where it's due, the fundamental responsibility for building the campaign and the entire background for Wraeth's story lies with Efan, who is doing an incredible job and we would literally be nothing without him.

Our intention, when starting the game, was to have a good time. Unfortunately, one of us is a professional author who is just not able to let a good story go to waste and started writing about Wraeth's adventures. Not wanting to let a good, written down, story go to waste she decided why not publish it, and thus our venture was born.

Our intention is to publish a series of books following the adventures of Wraeth and their friends as they travel through all the kingdoms of the Middle Kingdoms, searching for pieces of the amulet that will enable them to banish Belladonna, the Goddess of Chaos, who they've unwittingly unleashed on the world.

We have no idea how many more there will be. We're all crossing our fingers that none of us dies before we reach the end.

Reader Questions and Comments

This is your chance to contribute. If you have any comments, questions, requests etc about absolutely anything, this is your chance. Please keep it clean and courteous as we have young people on the team. We reserve the right to delete anything we feel is inappropriate, so be nice people.

Question For Anyone Interested

Efan pointed out that having an ongoing "Story So Far" section might spoil things for readers as it gives away spoilers and why bother buying the books when the story is already there?

I like the Story So Far section because it gives first time readers who come to the blog a taster of what to expect and hopefully lure them into wanting more.

So, the question is simply, what do you think? What do you want? At the end of the day this is for the readers, not for us and I'm happy to listen to whatever anyone has to say on any topic. Feel free to vent, criticise or make suggestions about this or anything else that comes to mind.

Update of Updates

Book One - The Beginning is undergoing the second round of edits and it is anticipated it will be ready for publishing in the next month or so. Therein begins the great adventure of formatting and uploading, as daunting a task as any of the adventures faces by our happy band of adventurers.

The Story So Far has been updated, as has the character page.

Book Two - Elves and Fairies is completely written and will be the next to face editing and publication.

Book Three - Under the Broken Mountains has been written up until the current place in the adventure. It is already hefty and there is a good deal of adventure left before we are done with the dwarven lands. It is, therefore, highly likely the book will be split into at last two.

Sadly, the game itself has been put on hold until the current situation has resolved, but with two and a half books to work on there's to be no rest for Wraeth and their friends.

Update

Check out the new content with the updated story and a list of the gods and goddesses of our world.

The first two books are written!

Book 1 - Beginnings is with the group for comment and will then come back for thorough editing and on to the terrifying process of choosing a cover and learning how to format for ebook.

Book 2 - Elves and Faeries has been completed but not inputted so it will be a while before it's ready for discussion, editing and production. Hopefully we will have learned a lot from Book 1 and will be less terrified.
